Monday Meals
Here’s my first go at posting meals online. Thanks for the emails about meal ideas. I am using 2 new ones this week. If you have others that you love, please pass them on! We especially like Mexican and Italian as well as American dishes around here.
Monday: Brown Rice and Chicken Casserole via Troy http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/brown-rice-and-chicken-casserole/Detail.aspx
Tuesday: Burgers on the grill…its supposed to be in the 70s all week!
Wednesday: Kansas City Sue’s Slow Cooker Chicken via a website that Stacey sent http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2010/09/kansas-city-sues-chicken-slow-cooker.html
Thursday: Bacon, egg and cheese burritos (one of my easy go-to favorites, but not one of Tim’s–sorry! :)
Friday: Leftovers or winging it
Saturday: Dinner with friends and watching football
Whatcha cookin’ this week?
Tasty! Elizabeth made her — I don’t want to brag, but — world famous “vodka pasta” earlier this week. Contents include penne pasta, sausage, garlic, olive oil, some sort of tomatoes/tomato sauce and whipping cream. It’s not only delicious, but retains sentimental value as it’s the first meal she ever made for me (back in the “good saga” days.
We also splurged for our weekly date night, eating on the rooftop at Tally’s in Beaverdale to take advantage of the wicked awesome weather. The atmosphere is cool, but the food is a little bit overpriced/overrated. This analysis does not apply to their nachos, which we avoided in anticipation of next week’s half-marathon.
Thursday night, Mom made me some grinders — a delightful new invention.
Did you like the casserole? When we first made it, it took longer than expected to bake.
Yum-O! If you get a chance, can you send me E’s world famous pasta recipe? It sounds excellent.
The weather has been fantastic here too. We grilled burgers one night and then again instead of the BEC burritos last night.
We did like the casserole! It was a good winter/fall comfort food and will be making it again. I think we could have cooked it a little longer, but it was good. Always nice to have something I can prepare during naptime and then pop in the oven when I need to.
Grinders–would love to know what this is and get the recipe.
Can’t wait to hear how the half marathon goes!
I have forwarded your request.
