I thought this was great.

It’s a good thing they’re cute.

You know it’s going to be a long day when, by 9 am, your baby is taking his 2nd nap, your 2 year old has pooped….twice, your coffee pot turned off before you even got a cup of coffee, and you have a fat, bloody lip from your baby headbuttting you.  Thank goodness the Hubs is coming home today.  It’s a good thing they’re {very} cute.  🙂

Monday Meals

It’s just me and the kiddos a couple of nights this week, so we’re keeping it simple.

Monday:  Grilled turkey and cheese

Tuesday:  Pizza

Wednesday:  Baked Chicken (carry-over from last week)

Thursday:  Vegetarian chili

Friday:  Birthday party for a friend

Hope you’re having a great Monday!

Totally her.

If you know Avery, this photo makes you smile.  It’s so her.

Love her.

Fun on a Friday

Last night we treated ou’self with a little taste of heaven called Chik Fil A. We loaded up in our bad animal mini van and made our way there. Not abnormal for us…but we went a little wild and decided to go inside and sit down for our mmm mmm delicious meal.

A bit tongue and cheek here…life has changed a bit…and when Jaym and I decided we all needed to get out of the house…and we’d treat ourselves to a sit down meal at CFA…we looked at each other and realized we live a fun yet lame life.

Just funny.

Last night, Avery and I were reading some books before bedtime.  Without fail, she always picks out the books that take the longest to go through to read at that time.  She also starts acting really busy around bedtime, playing with toys she hasn’t touched all day, etc.  Anyways, as we were looking through the book, she points to this picture and says, “There’s Mommy” :

Middle-aged frumpy woman Avery thinks I look like

That had me feeling pretty sad…that my child thinks of me as a frumpy old woman, until I asked Avery which student she looked like in the book and she points to this little girl:

What Avery thinks she looks like

I just had to laugh…and wonder when we should take her to the eye doctor.

Monday Meals

Last week got a little crazy, so we did leftovers once and Tim brought home a pizza that was leftover from a meeting, which means we have some meals that we didn’t get to last week.  Less grocery shopping for me—yay!

Monday:  Mom’s lasagna (carry-over)

Tuesday:  Chicken and Noodles Casserole (carry-over)

Wednesday:  Leftovers

Thursday:  Pasta with homemade pasta sauce (via Elizabeth aka Whitney, haha..sounds yummy!)

Friday:  Baked Chicken

Saturday:  Eating out or ordering in

Hope to get some more pics up this week.  I got an iPhone on Friday.  The best part?  It uploads pics to the computer from the phone without me doing anything….loving the cloud!

Micah: 5 Months

The Big Boy is 5 months old today.  I know its cliche, but sometimes it seems like he’s been here all along and in other ways I can’t believe its been 5 whole months.  The days go slow sometimes but the months have been flying by.

At 5 months, he:

  • rolls over
  • smiles
  • coos
  • laughs a lot
  • has 2 teeth
  • is growing out of 9 month clothes and wearing 12 month
  • scoots on his belly (mostly backward)
  • loves his big sis
  • loves being tickled
  • takes 3 naps/day
  • sleeps around 8 hours a night, then wakes up to eat and then sleeps again for another 2-4 hours
  • is starting to like rice cereal a little
  • is more flexible than his big sis was at this age (or maybe I’m more flexible?)
  • is very social
  • smiles at anyone who talks to him
  • nuzzles into my shoulder when he gets tired
  • likes having his bum patted after he’s done eating and before he goes to bed
  • likes singing and humming
  • loves being outside
  • wants to be on the move a lot
  • splashes like a wild man in the bath
  • likes being on the move in the Baby Bjorn (which would be fine if he didn’t weigh 20 lbs!)
  • doesn’t like to be constrained by the carseat unless he is sleeping
  • likes the exersaucer or anything that keeps him busy

Micah, October 2011

Isn’t he a handsome little fella?  We love you, Big Guy.
